Welcome to 2009. The start of the new year. I knw my post is pretty belated but thats because I have so many things to do. I rarely have the time to blog & now I finally have some time to blog about the things that happened since the last day I post which was New Year's eve.

Its the start of the new year, so leave all your unhappy memories behind whilst 2008 passed. Start afresh with the new 2009 alright? (:
I hope everyone would be able to fulfill their new yr resolutions, including myself. (I have tons of resolutions :x).

New Year's Eve (31st dec)
Okay So I shall start blogging. In the evening went to Fiona Jiejie's house & had a countdown. Went swimming & started preparing for the bbq aka poolside party. LOL! Okay, lets start with the pictures. (:





I love them ♥. So anw, I was wearing a bikini inside but Mummy made a big fuss about me showing too much flesh & she was clearly not happy. So I decided to wear another big shirt over it. But it was alright, in fact I felt much better. Come out of the water feel super cold okay D:
We soaked in the water, swimmed & come out to eat, then go back swim again.



This are the 3 kids who kept playing with my goggles until I couldn't find it. I was so irritated, I decided to hook my goggles with me D:
Challenged Yanxing to swimming (he's 178cm tall okay!). I won him in freestyle but he won me in breast-stroke. So tell me, who's the champion here? huh huh huhhh? :3
Was in a competition-crazy-mood, keep challenging him like mad. Uncle even said if I could win him, he will give me $5. Where's my $5? Cheat my feelings. zzz D:



Swam until like 9 plus close to 10. Go up to Fiona Jiejie's house there slack. Watched the countdown shows then countdown. Saw the fireworks & all that la. Wanted to spam wishes on midnight, but then the stupid network obviously got jammed. I could receive msges but cannot send out D: SICKENING. Look at the adults. Go everywhere also play mahjong. Go Beijing also play mahjong ._. (Its not like I don't like mahjong la).

New Year's Day (1st jan)
Slept quite late yesterday. Can't remember what time. But I woke up like freaking late too.
Nua at home watch TV (Quickly thinks of nehneh :3). But anw, then Mummy suggested going to see the Peranakan Museum at City Hall. So Daddy drove us there. Its been long since we had such a family outing anw.
Went around the Museum & I discovered alot of interesting things about Peranakan culture (including the fact that I am a Peranakan). LOL! I also didn't know until recently la. I have pictures for the Museum but there're too many. I scared I will flood this whole post with pictures. See le also sian. They are all pictures of artefacts :3

Then went to Bugis eat my fav Fish noodle. I love that fish noodle stall la.
Begged Mummy to bring me to Arab Street find my Nyonya Kebaya (I wanted to buy it). So Daddy drove us there. Walked around the whole of Arab Street, found one shop that really sold the Nyonya Kebayas. Saw this really nice pink ones but see the price, I also jitao wan faint. $168 for one set. And that was like the average price alrdy!
So obviously in the end went home empty-handed la.

Home-d and then watched Tv until at night (:

Today
Suppose to go jogging with Mummy at East Coast. Told myself to wake up early. But in the end I couldn't wake up early. Mummy didn't either. Haha.
Got ready quickly for jogging, then some people from the Ministry of Environment came to random check our house for mosquitoes. I don't knw what exactly happened but I knw we suay suay early in the morning tio fine ._.
BUT still, Mummy drove me to Siglap Mac's for breakfast. Had a super super quick breakfast.
Then Mummy super nice ♥, she drove me to Joo Chiat there find my Nyonya Kebaya (:

ADVICE ON BUYING NYONYA KEBAYAS (:
FIRST, There are cheap ones but those cheap ones that are around $50+ are usually bad qualities & you knw the nyonya tops are slightly transparent, the cheap ones aren't really transparent. SECOND, some Kebayas do look like Nyonya Kebayas & they are priced around $70+ to $90+. But although they seem cheap, these kebayas lean more to the Malay Kebayas because their tops are quite long, until your thighs length. So don't buy the wrong kebaya. THIRD, The average Nyonya Kebaya set is around $120 to $140. It isn't easy to find one with good quality anymore unless you are willing to spend the money. You can never find a decent Nyonya Kebaya set with less than $100, for those authentic & good quality ones. But if you can only buy the cheap ones, I'd rather you not buy because they are really not worth it & they don't really feel like Nyonya Kebayas. FOUR, make sure your Kebaya is fitting, not too tight not too loose. Don't leave room for you to grow fat because loose kebayas look super unflattering on you. Actually, the tighter the better (: LAST, You can differentiate Malay Kebayas & Nyonya Kebayas. Malay Kebayas have buttons on their tops where you can button it. But Nyonya Kebayas don't have buttons at all. You need a brooch to hook your top to prevent yourself from revealing too much la. So if your Kebaya has buttons, then its not the real deal.

So thats about it. I did pre-order a set alrdy. My top is chiffon, the peachy color & my sarong is in red & pink with flowers (:
Mummy bought them for me knowing that I like it. Have fun buying the kebayas. But a piece of warning, if you wan to wear them, quickly get them fast. Most kebayas left size M or L alrdy, so its quite hard to get one nice one with our sizes like XS or S.

Okay I think I update until now bahs. Its really long alrdy & I am quite tired. Looking forward to 2009 aye! (:
